We take pride in our students as a community and encourage them to pursue their educational goals with the help of our scholarship programs.

The Island Association offers grant opportunities to other nonprofit community organizations and civic groups year round.  There is no granting cycle or deadline for applications. 

Scholarships

Freshman Year Scholarship

This award is specifically designed to help local high school graduates with educational expenses in their first year of continuing education.  The scholarship can be used for a variety of secondary educational options including Community, Technical College and University study.  The awards are offered annually to graduating seniors.  

Eligible students are mailed a Freshman Year Scholarship Application in April and may request an award of up to $1,000.00.  Scholarship awards are presented to recipients in early June.

Continuing Scholarship  

The Continuing Scholarship was created to help students with educational expenses after their freshman year.  Due to a generous donations the program was able to expand. 

Students may apply for an award of $2,000 for each academic year. Eligible Students are mailed a Continuing Scholarship Application in late June with awards given for the fall semester of that academic year.

Fiscal Receiverships

On occasion the Island Association will accept applications from an organization acting as a fiscal agent for another entity or agree to act as a fiscal receiver for an organization enabling an entity to receive donations or grant funding.  Deciding to do so is up to the discretion of the Board of Directors and the project must fit within the Island Association's Mission.
